The texts describe neither market hall nor covered arcades.
Period
Bastide founded in 1288; an enclave of the jugerie of Rivière-Verdun until the Revolution.
What stands there
Church of the Nativité-de-Notre-Dame inscribed on the inventory of monuments historiques since 1926. A bastide founded by the seneschal whose name it bears, one of the rare cases in which the founder named the town after himself.

Beaumarchés bears the name of its founder: Eustache de Beaumarchès, seneschal of Toulouse from 1272 and a great builder of bastides for the King of France. The town was created in 1288 by a paréage between the seneschal, representing Philip the Bold, and the Count of Pardiac. Its vast territory then took in Mondebat, Scieurac, Flourès, Armous-et-Cau and Monterran, but the bastide languished and never saw any great development. Today set in the vineyards of the Côtes-de-Saint-Mont, it keeps its church of the Nativité-de-Notre-Dame, inscribed as a monument historique, an old well and, in its surroundings, the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre de Coutens, the château d'Esparbès and the memory of the abbey of La Case-Dieu.
