Château de Trécesson
Campénéac
A sumptuous château of red schist reflected in its moats, on the western edge of the forest of Paimpont. Its most famous legend, that of the White Lady, tells that a young bride in her wedding dress was abducted by two masked men one autumn night around 1750, then buried alive before the eyes of a poacher crouched in a nearby tree — too terrified to intervene. Dug up the next day, she is said to have died moments after being unearthed, without having been able to name her murderers. Her ghost is said to have wandered around the château ever since.
