Val sans Retour et Miroir aux Fées
Tréhorenteuc
According to Arthurian legend, the fairy Morgan, betrayed in love, cast a spell on this narrow valley to imprison there for ever, behind invisible walls of air, any unfaithful lover who ventured in — until Lancelot of the Lake, raised by Viviane at the castle of Comper, already featured in the app, came to break the enchantment. The Rocher des Faux Amants (Rock of the False Lovers), a silhouette of purple schist overlooking the pool of the Miroir aux Fées (the Fairies' Mirror), is said to be the petrified trace of these prisoners. In September 1990 a fire ravaged this part of the forest for five days; the following year the artist François Davin installed the Golden Tree there, a charred chestnut covered with 5,000 gold leaves, as a symbol of the rebirth of Brocéliande after the disaster.
