Period
12th century (Romanesque nave on the north side, late 12th c.), then enlarged in the 16th century (transept, ossuary and porch added on the south; bell-cote dated 1595)
What stands there
One of the rare surviving Romanesque remains in the Fouesnant-Bénodet area; listed as a historic monument (chapel and enclosure wall with its entrances), Mérimée reference PA00089830

Dedicated to Saint Brigid, this small rural chapel at Perguet has kept on its north side a Romanesque nave of the late 12th century, one of the rare witnesses to that period in the Bénodet area. In the 16th century the parishioners attached a transept, an ossuary and a porch on the south side, profoundly altering its original appearance, while the bell-cote bears the date 1595. The juxtaposition of the two building campaigns, four centuries apart, can still be read today in the contrast between the plainness of the Romanesque wall and the more elaborate decoration of the Renaissance additions. The chapel and its enclosure wall are protected as historic monuments.
