它虽在行政区划上不属于布列塔尼，却是传说的发源地：口头传统把这块献给制伏恶龙的大天使的岩石，列为古阿莫里卡（Armorique）历史版图中七座“圣丘”之首，那片版图昔日远远超出今日的布列塔尼大区。据传统说法，大天使米迦勒于708年向阿夫朗什主教欧贝尔（Aubert）显现，命他在这座当时称作“汤布山”（Mont Tombe）的小岛上建一座圣所。
