1244年蒙塞居尔陷落之后，幸存的卡特里派信徒在阿拉贡边界上的这里重新聚集。城堡坚守到1255年，比蒙塞居尔晚了十一年，因此成为朗格多克卡特里派在消失之前最后一处有组织的避难所。
