What stands there
1 bridge
This Romanesque six-arch bridge, built in the 11th century and financed, according to tradition, by a queen of Navarre (probably Dona Mayor/Muniadona, wife of Sancho III), gives the town its name. It is just past this bridge that the Via Tolosana (which entered Spain via the Somport pass) finally joins the other three French routes united at the Roncevaux pass: from this point on, the four Compostela routes featured in this app become a single Camino Frances all the way to Compostela.
