What stands there
A chapel and the dwelling of its hermit, in the countryside of the pays de Briey

Isolated in the countryside, at Allondrelle-la-Malmaison, a hermitage chapel keeps its hermit's dwelling. A hermit is attested on this hillside in the second half of the 17th century. A lintel bears the date 1677, and a foundation plaque names Jean Hablot. The last known hermit, a certain Paul, lived there shortly before the Revolution. A farm and its outbuildings were added in 1836. The chapel, with a single nave, is of limestone rubble, with a bell tower with a polygonal slate spire. The niche above the entrance has lost its statue of Sainte Reine. Inside there is a polychrome oak altar with altarpiece, with a confessional screen and a rustic offertory box. Sainte Reine, shepherdess and martyr, is greatly venerated in Burgundy. The whole has been inscribed as a historic monument since 5 November 2002.
