What stands there
The church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens has been inscribed as a monument historique since 2002. Le Fousseret is one of the few bastides of the Comminges to have repulsed the Black Prince in 1355; its franchises were confirmed by Francis I in 1531.

Le Fousseret looks out over the plain of the Garonne north of Cazères, on a hill whose straight ravines, the fossae rectae, gave the town its name. It is a comital bastide created in 1247 by Raymond VII, count of Toulouse, who had acquired the rights to the castle from the lords of Noé, Seysses and Orbessan; his successor Alphonse de Poitiers turned the castel into a stronghold, which in 1355 held out against the assaults of the Black Prince's chevauchée. The town's franchises were confirmed by Francis I in 1531, before it became a barony and lords and inhabitants fell out over the election of the consuls. The castle, partly ruined in the 18th century, was demolished around 1820 to make way for the promenade du Picon, from which the view reaches the Pyrenees. The church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens, inscribed in 2002, and the market hall make up the heart of the town.
