Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Crann
Spézet
On his return from the crusade in the 13th century, the lord Bernard du Chastel had an oratory built to thank the Virgin for having protected him from the plague, and placed in it a treasure of relics brought back from Palestine: hair and bones attributed to the mother of Jesus, a fragment of Christ's cross and of his sepulchre. Nestled in the Montagnes Noires, the present chapel, rebuilt in 1535, houses one of the finest sets of 16th-century stained glass in Brittany — a veritable catechism in pictures for parishioners who, for the most part, could not read.
