Founded around 1140–1150 by Richard d'Harcourt on the Neubourg plateau, this commandery became the most powerful Templar establishment in Normandy, with nine farms and holdings in more than sixty parishes. The original chapel and the commander's lodging have gone, but the 15th-century grain barn, built by the commander Philippe de Mailly, still stands, with his carved coat of arms on the keystone. The bakehouse, with its three bread ovens, completes this rare ensemble. Passed to the Hospitallers after 1312, the commandery is today hired out for weddings and seminars under the name "La Grange de Renneville" and can be visited by groups on reservation.
