早在1209年，即阿尔比十字军东征开始后的最初几周，就遭到围攻，当时的统治者是年轻的卡特里派子爵雷蒙-鲁杰·特朗卡维尔（Raymond-Roger Trencavel），此后归入法国王室管辖。19世纪由维奥莱-勒-迪克（Viollet-le-Duc）修复，如今已列入联合国教科文组织名录。
