Place of pilgrimage since the 1850s (cholera epidemic)
What stands there
1 pedunculate oak, labelled a "Remarkable Tree" by the ONF (National Forests Office)

Standing on the edge of the forest of Meudon, this oak became a place of pilgrimage from the 1850s, during the third cholera pandemic: according to local tradition, the epidemic ceased at Viroflay after the parish priest had organised prayers to the Virgin there. This Marian devotion lies directly behind the name of the church of Notre-Dame-du-Chêne at Viroflay, a modernist building constructed between 1960 and 1966, which perpetuates the memory of the consecrated oak.
