What stands there
built on the ruins of a former priory
Built at the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries on the ruins of a former priory, this Romanesque church stands at Avrillé, a commune renowned for the exceptional density of its sacred heritage. Its original bell tower, square in plan and not very tall, collapsed in 1805; the present one dates from a rebuilding of 1864 and was given three bells ten years later.
