13th-century stained glass among the best preserved in Europe
Contemporary with Chartres, built from 1195, it stands out for an architectural design unlike any other: no transept, five naves of decreasing size creating a striking perspective effect, and an exceptional set of 13th-century stained glass spread across three levels of the choir. Listed by UNESCO in 1992, it is considered one of the most accomplished Gothic cathedrals in France in terms of architectural unity.
