一座建立在灾难记忆之上的圣所，也建立在对一桩放过生者的奇迹的信仰之上。
迈昂圣母圣所（sanctuaire de Notre-Dame de Myans）的起源，与萨瓦历史上最大的自然灾难之一有关：1248年11月24日（一些来源作24日至25日夜间），格拉尼耶山发生巨大崩塌，掩埋了数个村庄，很可能造成约一千人遇难，当时的编年史则称多达一万人，据传统所说，泥石流恰好停在一座献给圣母的小礼拜堂前。幸存者视之为奇迹的征兆，圣母崇拜在此地发展起来，直到1452年起建造现有的圣所，交由从贝莱（Belley）来的方济各会修士负责。圣所内供奉着一尊12世纪的乌木黑圣母像。
