What stands there
Around 5,000 pilgrims gathered every 8 September according to local tradition

Tradition sets in the 11th century the story of a blind girl praying before a head of the Virgin carved by a shepherd, of whom the Virgin is said to have asked for a chapel; her father agreed only on condition that his daughter regain her sight, which came to pass, according to the account, after she had washed her eyes at the spring in the valley. The medieval chapel, destroyed in 1589 and then pillaged at the Revolution, was rebuilt between 1857 and 1860. Two independent sources report this account of Marian tradition.
