Chapelle Notre-Dame du Dimanche
Saint-Bauzille-de-la-Sylve
On 8 June 1873 a winegrower named Auguste Arnaud claimed to have seen the Virgin in his vineyard, asking him to raise a cross there; on 8 July following, a second apparition urged him not to work on Sundays. After an inquiry, Bishop de Cabrières authorised in 1879 the building of a sanctuary on the site, still the goal of a local pilgrimage. Like most of the apparitions reported in the 19th century outside the great recognised sanctuaries, this one rests on the sole testimony of the seer and the cautious assent of the diocesan authority, not on an official recognition equivalent to that of Lourdes.
