Collégiale Notre-Dame de Quézac
Quézac
According to the traditional account, a ploughman found a Black Madonna in a furrow he was cutting; taken to the village church, the statue vanished during the night and reappeared, in the morning, at the exact spot of its discovery — a sign understood as the Virgin's own choice of place. An oratory was then raised there. Historically, a religious building is attested at Quézac from 1052, raised to collegiate status in 1365 by Pope Urban V, a native of the region; only the legend of the statue belongs to oral tradition rather than to verified history.
