What stands there
1 building (statuette kept in the parish church)

According to tradition, on 2 July 1435 (sometimes dated 1531 in certain accounts), shepherds tending their flocks on the montagne d'Étang near Dijon noticed the grass growing back greener in one particular spot; digging there, they are said to have unearthed an 11th–12th-century statuette of the Virgin. The abbot of Saint-Bénigne had it carried to his church, but it is said to have returned miraculously to the place where it was found — the classic motif of the "statue that comes back". A chapel, then a commemorative monument (1877–1896), were built on the hill.
