What stands there
Chapel traditionally associated with the protection of sailors; ex-votos kept in the Quesnel-Morinière museum

According to local tradition as relayed by the collaborative encyclopaedia Wikimanche, a 15th-century statue of the Virgin and Child is said to have been discovered on this site, then marked by a pilgrimage calvary. The present chapel, funded by Canon Charles Turgot and built at the end of the 16th century, was raised to house this statue, which had become an object of devotion, particularly among local sailors. This information, drawn from a single source consulted, would need to be cross-checked against other works of local history before final validation.
