Cast

Dimensions
Early 16th-century chapel, altered in the 17th century (bell tower, high altar by the Le Déan workshop around 1680)
Period
Apparitions reported from 1640, testimony recorded by the Jesuit missionary Julien Maunoir in 1655–1656; no official canonical recognition
What stands there
According to tradition, Yves Le Goff experienced several further apparitions and died "in the odour of sanctity" around 1660

According to his own testimony, recorded by Father Julien Maunoir, the ploughman Yves Le Goff is said to have received several apparitions of the Virgin from the feast of the Assumption 1640 onwards, some of which tradition places in this chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Good News (Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Nouvelle). No canonical inquiry was ever opened and the Church has not recognised these visions, which remain a testimony of local oral and missionary tradition, known from Father Maunoir's account, summarised in 1697 by his biographer, Father Boschet.
