What stands there
1 abbey

Founded in 1134 by King Henry I Beauclerc between the communes of Lisors and Lyons-la-Forêt, the Cistercian abbey of Mortemer reached its apogee in the 13th century before a gradual decline from the 16th century onwards, until its final closure in 1792. The medieval buildings of the abbey church and cloister survive today as ruins, while the great 17th-century lodging, better preserved, houses a museum devoted to monastic life.
