Lac de Bastani

Ghisoni

The Lac de Bastani lies above Ghisoni. It is given at 2,090 m above sea level by Corse Net Infos and by the tourist office (which also cites 2,092 m in the same text), which makes it one of the highest lakes on the island. The tourist office describes it as heart-shaped. From its surroundings, one sees the eastern plain and the étang d'Urbino. The trail described starts at an altitude of 1,586 m, near the Capannelle refuge on the GR20: one leaves the GR to follow the track towards the Petraniella chairlift, then leaves the small ski area for a broad ridge at around 1,725 m; allow 1 h 30 to 2 h to this point, the rest of the climb not being detailed in the source. The area, depth, origin of the lake and any legend or ancient use were not found in the sources consulted: this entry is deliberately brief and will need to be completed from a local source (commune of Ghisoni, Parc naturel régional de Corse).
