What stands there
The commandery is among the monuments cited by Wikipedia. An Anglo-Hospitaller paréage bastide of 1318 which remained without urban development, according to the Fédération des bastides d'Aquitaine.

Le Temple-sur-Lot, in the valley of the Lot near Villeneuve, owes its name to a commandery of the Templars built in the 13th century, which became a Hospitaller commandery when the property of the order of the Temple was devolved. It is under this name of Temple-du-Breuil, or du Bruhle, that the Wikipedia list of bastides places it among the foundations of Edward II in 1318, and the Fédération des bastides d'Aquitaine confirms that a deed of paréage appears to have been made in 1318 with the king of England to create the bastide of Temple-du-Breuil, the dissolution of the Templars in 1312 having transferred the commandery to the Hospitallers. But there seems to have been no urban development with orthogonal streets: the new town remained a project, and it is the commandery, with its towers, its chapel, its spiral staircase and its vaulted cellars, that makes the interest of the place today.

Getting there : Free access to the village. The Latour-Marliac water lily garden is in the commune.
