What stands there
keep/dovecote, pond, chapel, closed entrance to underground passages

Given to the Templars in 1191 by Alix of France, the commandery of Sours set its soldier-monks against the neighbouring lords of Montdoubleau in the 13th century over questions of boundaries and rights. Its keep, converted into a circular stone dovecote, survives today alongside a chapel adorned with a curious carving of a turbaned helmet and a now-sealed entrance to underground passages — passages which local legend claims lead to the château of Sours, or even to Chartres Cathedral, some twenty kilometres away.
