What stands there
listed as a monument historique since 1926; village awarded the "4 Fleurs" label

La Vraie-Croix, formerly a trève (subsidiary chapelry) of the parish of Sulniac, owes its name and its foundation, according to local tradition, to the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem, who took over the Templar possessions in Brittany after 1312 and helped to spread the cult of a relic of the True Cross brought back from the East. The present chapel, built over the public road, is a rare example of this arrangement in Brittany. The site is today a recognised tourist attraction in Morbihan, keeping alive the legend of the relic and of the village's name. Local historians note, however, that caution is needed: in places the cult of the True Cross predated the arrival of the military orders, and its systematic attribution to the Templars or Hospitallers cannot always be demonstrated.
