What stands there
A single remnant of the original sanctuary has survived the successive rebuildings: the 12th-century Romanesque porch, today the only element protected as a historic monument, together with the neighbouring calvary (16th century).

According to local tradition, a first church was built here in the 12th century, on the site of a former house of the Templars. Of this original sanctuary only the south porch survives today, with its Romanesque doorway with a double central mullion and its capitals with carved masks — the sole remnant spared by the complete rebuilding of the church in 1848. The church, dedicated to Saint Nicodemus, is also known for having hosted, in the old building, the wedding of the parents of the writer François-René de Chateaubriand. The Romanesque porch and the neighbouring 16th-century calvary are today protected as historic monuments.
